What is the best way to flatten and perhaps fade raised scars?

I want to get rid of some old scars I have. I am willing to do whatever it takes to do so.|||Believe it or not, sanding them genitally with sandpaper will flatten and remove old skin, Do not rub till blood shows, just enough to make the skin raw and be patient. It will not work quickly...
